Get to Know Caroline
Why did you become a realtor?
After finishing my Business degree, I went into sales & marketing for a few years, but I quickly realized the corporate world wasn’t for me. I grew up around real estate with my Dad being a developer, which made me realize there were so many different directions I could take with a career in real estate. Although I considered returning to a commercial real estate firm, being a Realtor truly combines my passion for real estate with my passion for helping people during some of life’s biggest moments. So I took an entrepreneurial risk, quit my job when the market was down, and have never looked back!
Where do you like to travel?
Traveling is a big part of my life. I have been fortunate enough to travel all over the world, including two backpacking trips (4 months in New Zealand, Australia and Thailand, and 6 months is South America). I have spent quite a bit of time in Europe, having recently been on a backcountry cycling trip with my family in France, and living abroad in Sweden while traveling to 12 European countries during an international exchange throughout my university program. While backpacking days may be behind me, I still love going anywhere where there’s sun, adventure, good food, and surfing!
What’s one thing most people don’t know about you?
I was a competitive gymnast growing up!
What is your favourite part of selling real estate?
Real estate comes during life’s biggest moments, whether you’re a first-time homebuyer, downsizing to prepare for retirement, or up-sizing for your growing family, and I feel so lucky that I get to support and be there for my clients while they transition into the next chapter of their lives, whichever chapter that may be.Everywhere you go, people are talking real estate, and I love being able to share my industry knowledge and be the resource to educate family, friends, and clients on the current real estate market and the buying and selling process. It gives me an opportunity to reconnect with people in my life and I feel very lucky to have found a career I love.
What are your favourite books, movies, shows, bands?
My music collection includes a full range of genres, but some of my favourite bands and artists include: The Steve Miller Band, Tom Petty, Adele, Justin Timberlake, Bob Marley, The Black Keys, Sam Roberts Band, Beyonce, Jay-Z, and Drake. Some of my favourite movies include: The Bourne series, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, and any movie that Will Ferrell is in.
