Michael Duval
Born in Calgary and grew up on an acreage out in Turner Valley. I committed 10 years to water polo; where I once trained with the Canadian men’s national team, and at one time considered being a full-time Olympic athlete as my career! I attended Mount Royal University where I graduated with my BBA in a concentration/major in Accounting/Finance. I also used to work in civil construction; where I was a lead asphalt supervisor on the West Calgary Ring-Road. A short list of my interests include:
• Skiing, hockey, hiking, camping, hunting, working out, golfing, etc., basically anything that involves the outdoors and/or fitness
•Huge music enthusiast that used to play guitar, but now spend my time drumming instead!
• I grew up on the backs of motorcycles and have a passion for these incredible machines. I used to ride an 800cc Suzuki Intruder…and cannot wait to get another motorcycle hopefully soon in the future!
• Love to read, play cards, boardgames, puzzles, strategy/mind games
• During COVID I taught myself how to crochet… if anyone in the office wants a scarf or baby blanket let me know!

Why did you become a realtor?
After working the grey/mundane life of a number cruncher, I felt drawn to the adventurous nature of being a realtor. Getting to travel to all sorts of different places and meeting all kinds of new people is the thrilling ride I want to be part of! I also hope I can provide my future clients with a truly quality/meaningful EXPERIENCE, as opposed to a TRANSACTION that so many customers and clients are used to. (Hope to make an impact in peoples lives & have a real hands-on approach).
What is your favourite part of selling real estate?
Having the ownership & flexibility to schedule my life and clients based on their priority. Being able to act as my own boss and determine how I want my services to be delivered to my clients. Knowing that at the end of the day, my ultimate success relies directly on my level of input/involvement with my clients and business.
Where do you like to Travel?
Anywhere that is cold & has tons of snow! (lol) Although the great outdoors in our backyard is my favourite place to roam around, I love travelling to Europe and its neighbouring areas.
What are your favourite books, movies, shows, bands?
As a huge Star Wars nerd, I tend to read a ton of Star Wars and other fictional books that allows my creativity to let loose & go crazy.
I don’t have any favourite movies, but my favourite genre is comedy. Always love a good laugh.
My top 5 favourite shows (in no order) are “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia”, “Seinfeld”, “Letterkenny”, “Shoresy”, “Southpark”
I grew up listening to all 80’s hair metal/rock and my favourite band is “Van Halen”.
What’s one thing most people don’t know about you?
If there’s one thing most people don’t know, is that I’m a competitive eater and won Alberta’s 2023 “Beyond Hot” spicy chicken wing eating contest. You can also find me on many restaurant wall of fames for food challenges I’ve taken down over the years.
