Aakib Janmohamed
AJ was born and raised in North Vancouver, where he started his real estate career at 19 years old. He moved to Calgary in June of 2025, and lives with his partner & 2 (adorable) cats.
AJ, being from Vancouver, LOVES West-coast modern architecture, and enjoys browsing homes on Architectural Digest, as well as trying to pick out the staging in the celebrity home tours! In his free time AJ enjoys reading, picnics by the bow, and travelling!
AJ is a sponsor of a local drag show, They Got Talent - It’s a safe space for queer people in Calgary to be around community- and being queer himself, a large portion of his clientele are members of the LGBTQ2S+ community.
AJ is a licensed realtor in Alberta (CREB) and British Columbia (GVR) and would be happy to assist clients in either region.
Why did you become a realtor?
I became a realtor because I grew up in community, my parents were self employed for most of my life as hairdressers, and the people you get to serve running your own business are some of the COOLEST people you’ll ever meet. I wanted those connections for myself!
Where do you like to travel?
I LOVE Mexico! I went on a trip a few years back to Zihuatanejo and Ixtapa, and it was so gorgeous. Great food, great people, great tequila. 🙂
What’s one thing most people don’t know about you?
I can navigate Vancouver traffic and backroads without Google Maps.
What is your favourite part of selling real estate?
My favourite part about selling Real estate is… okay I’m kinda torn here- I LOVE working with my clients, and helping my queer friends build wealth and buy homes, but I also just… Really like houses? I drove through Mount Royal the other day and it really reminded me how much I love the cores of this business, the homes- and the people. There is more to real estate than a cookie cutter condo! (But if that’s your thing give me a call 🤙🏽)
What are your favourite books, movies, shows, bands?
Recently I’ve been obsessed with Heated Rivalry… Waiting for season 2 to come out, also love a cult classic: The Devil Wears Prada, Mean Girls, Parent Trap, etc. My go-to summer band is Hippo Campus.
